2nd INTERDISCIPLINARY SYMPOSIUM ON PUBLIC PROCUREMENT

The Faculty of Business Administration of the Corvinus University of Budapest and the Faculty of Economics of the University of Rome Tor Vergata announce the launch of the 2nd Interdisciplinary Symposium on Public Procurement.


The aim of the Symposium is to bring together economists and lawyers in the field of public procurement through dialogue and discourse. The organizers have the ambition of reducing the terminology barrier between economists ad lawyers as well as coming across cultural divide while  reaching joint wider understanding of practical issues. The Symposium attempts also to suggest reform measures for better rules of acquisition for Public Administrations. While topics and references will certainly involve the European Union environment it shall not be limited to this area, taking advantage of best practices worldwide.


The 2nd edition will take place in Budapest on September 22 and 23 in 2014, in the beautiful main building of Corvinus University of Budapest, in the very heart of the capital of Hungary. During two days 4 main topics will be discussed.
Papers presented will be partly based on invitations (8 papers) of scholars and partly on the selection of another 8 papers submitted (see below). We encourage you to submit your abstract on one of the 4 following topics only:

  • Supporting social considerations via public procurement
  • Green public procurement
  • Innovation through innovative partnerships
  • LOT’s

The length of the abstracts must be between 150 and 200 words. It should be sent , together with the CV of the proposer, by May 15 2014, at anita.benesch@logisztika.hu .


The abstracts should include reference to use of data, novelty of the approach, reasoning or result. Only two abstracts per topics will be selected on the basis of the advice of the Scientific Committee.
By May 31, 2014, authors will be notified of the result of the selection.
By July 31, 2014 selected authors have to submit their full paper (15-20 A4 pages non technical paper, including references, and possible graphs and/or tables).
