Aris Georgopoulos

Dr Georgopoulos is Assistant Professor in European and Public Law at the School of Law of the University of Nottingham. He is also member of the Athens Bar, registered at the Athens Court of Appeal and Head of the Research Unit for Strategic and Defence Procurement of the Public Procurement Research Group (PPRG). Dr Georgopoulos has been also a Grotius Fellow at the Law School of the University of Michigan after having been awarded a scholarship from the Center for International and Comparative Law of the University of Michigan. He has been also a Global Governance Fellow at the Robert Schuman Centre for Advanced Studies (RCAS) of the European University Institute (EUI).

Dr Georgopoulos has acted as expert advisor to national authorities, to international organisations and institutions (such as the OECD, the World Bank, the European Central Bank, The European Court of Auditors and USAID) in the area of public procurement regulatory reform.

He has published in the fields of European Union Law, of public procurement law and defence procurement law. He has been an invited speaker at various conferences in Europe, Asia, North and Latin America. Dr Georgopoulos has given lectures on European Union Law and Public Procurement Law at Universities in the United States, Turkey, China, Malaysia and Colombia. Dr Georgopoulos is also member of the editorial board of the Public Procurement Law Review.
